How to use online photo editor: Crop, Brightness correction, Text, Mosaic

Check size and format before loading photos

Select photos in PNG, JPEG, or WebP format. The input limit is 20MiB, 16 million pixels, and 8,192px on each side. Even if the file size is small, the limit may be exceeded if the resolution is large. The imported photo is edited by reducing its long side to within 2,048px, so if the original is 4000×3000, the work size will be 2048×1536. It does not automatically enlarge photos that are smaller than the original.

Once you select a file, the photos are decrypted in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers for editing purposes. Any results you save on your device, such as downloaded files and clipboards, remain on your device. If you select a new photo or reload the page, your previous edits will be lost, so save your results first.

Crop and rotate photos: choose free ratio or 1:1

1. Drag over the photo to select the rectangle you want to leave. Even on mobile, you can drag the photo area with your finger.
2. squares, pick 1:1 in the Selection Ratio. 16:9, 9:16, and 4:3 are also available.
3. Crop selection removes pixels outside the selection.
4. If the orientations are different, apply a 90° right rotation or left/right flip.

If you select 1:1 in a 1920×1080 photo, the central 1080×1080 area will be selected. The coordinates are based on the upper left, with X increasing to the right and Y increasing downward. Modifying Left X, Top Y, Selection Width, and Selection Height numerically converts them to free proportions. Values ​​that point outside the photo are adjusted into the working image. The selection border displayed in the preview is not included in the saved image.

What is the difference between brightness, contrast, and saturation?

The default value of 100% is a value that does not apply the correction. Brightness changes RGB values ​​proportionally, and contrast adjusts the difference between light and dark based on the mid-brightness. Saturation adjusts the intensity of the color, and when black and white is turned on, it displays brightness values ​​instead of color. The corrections in this tool are simple pixel operations, and the results are not guaranteed to be the same as the same numbers in other editors.

First, try increasing the brightness slightly, such as 105-110%, and see if details in bright areas disappear. If you change contrast and saturation drastically at the same time, it's difficult to determine which setting is the problem. The slider is a preview of the current photo, and pressing Apply Color records it in one step. Even if you perform other edits such as cutting or adding text, the current color correction will be reflected as well. The download includes color settings for the current preview.

Reset color preview turns uncommitted sliders to 100%. If you want to revert corrections you've already applied, use Undo. Increasing brightness does not restore details that have already been lost.

Add text to a photo and hide some areas

Text is added as a single line to the top left of the selection area. Decide on the text you want to insert, the font size from 8 to 300px, and the color, then click Apply Font. If your text is buried in the background, you can use the text border option. If the text width extends beyond the image, it may be cut off, so check the size and position. The applied text does not remain as an individual layer and can be modified by undoing and re-entering.

To create a mosaic, select an area, size the blocks, and then press Mosaic Selection. The larger the block size, the coarser the grid will appear. Mosaics do not guarantee that the original information will be rendered unrecognizable. Completely cover sensitive information by blacking out the selected area, then open the saved file to check the surroundings and reflected areas.

How to undo and save PNG·JPEG·WebP

You can move edit results with Undo and Redo. It keeps up to the 12 most recent steps and removes older steps when the total history files exceed 48 MiB. If you apply a new edit after undoing, the existing redo path will disappear. Restoring to the original photo is an editing function that returns to the original size of the work loaded, and is not a function to restore the original resolution before reduction.

If you need to maintain transparency, choose PNG or WebP. JPEG fills transparent parts with white. PNG doesn't use quality settings. For JPEG/WebP, save from 85 and then enlarge to check the letters and borders. If size is a priority, lower the quality and compare. Quality 100 does not guarantee original preservation or file size reduction. If your browser doesn't support the selected output format, it will guide you to choose PNG instead of tricking it into saving with another extension.

Output method note: MDN Canvas toBlob. The editor exports marked pixels to a new file and does not support PSD, EXIF, or animation preservation.
