How to use the image format converter
Select an image, choose PNG, JPEG or WebP and convert. Download a new file that retains the original pixel dimensions.
Example usage
Converting PNG to JPEG fills the transparent areas with white and saves it as a .jpg file. This isn't just a name-changing feature.
Please note
The maximum input size is 20MB, 25 million pixels, and each side is 8,192px. It is saved as a still image and does not support animation/metadata preservation or HEIC/GIF/SVG/AVIF conversion.
Step-by-step instructions
- Select a PNG, JPEG, or WebP file.
- Select output format and JPEG·WebP quality and convert.
- Check the preview and file size before downloading.
Difference between extension modification and image conversion
Changing only the end of the file name does not change the internal data format. This tool reads the image and re-encodes it into the format of your choice. If you want to reduce the size, use a separate image resizing tool.
| Operations | output |
|---|---|
| PNG → JPEG | Transparent area is white, extension is .jpg |
| JPEG → PNG | The original lost image quality is not restored. |
| PNG → WebP | Create new file with browser encoder |
