Example usage
If you reduce a 2,000-pixel photo to 1,000 pixels, its vertical size will also be halved. The original files remain intact.
Please note
Processes still images up to 20 MB and 25 million pixels. When converting to JPEG, transparent areas become white and only the first frame of animation remains.

Difference between pixel size and file capacity
Pixel size is the horizontal and vertical resolution, and file capacity is the number of bytes stored. Reducing the size usually reduces the capacity, but if you change to a format with a different compression method, such as PNG, it may actually increase. Lowering the quality value for JPEG·WebP results in stronger lossy compression. PNGs are not affected by this quality slider.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does increasing the width improve the picture quality?
It increases the number of pixels, but does not restore detail that was missing from the original. Sufficient resolution of the original is more important than enlargement.
Will the original photo be overwritten?
The tool creates a new file without modifying the original file. Check your browser instructions when selecting the same name during the save process.
Is metadata such as EXIF maintained?
Encoding new images with Canvas does not guarantee preservation of original metadata. For archival purposes, keep the originals separate.
