Check before use
- Distinguish between discount amount and post-discount price.
- Make sure you include the start date when counting periods.
- When converting units, select the original unit first.
Compare two discounted prices
A price of 50,000 with a 20% discount becomes 40,000. A price of 45,000 with a 10% discount becomes 40,500. Compare final prices, not only discount percentages. These are hypothetical examples; shipping, taxes, coupon order and rounding depend on the seller’s rules.
Count calendar days or days until an event
September 1 to September 3 is a difference of two days, or three calendar days when both dates are counted. Use the include-start-date option for the latter. The calculator includes weekends and holidays; it does not determine business days or legal deadlines.
Compare values in different units
Convert lengths in inches and centimeters to the same unit before comparing them. For example, 10 inches equals 25.4 centimeters. Repeatedly converting rounded results can introduce errors, so convert directly from the original value. A temperature and a temperature difference also require different conversions.
