How to use Social media performance analysis

Select or paste UTF-8 CSV and press Read CSV. Check the automatically found Title, Views, and Reactions columns and then click Performance Analysis. You can narrow your results by platform, format, publication date, and minimum views and download them as CSV.

Example usage

The median of 100, 300, and 10,000 views is 300. If you pair 20 likes with 5 comments and get 1,000 views, your input-based response rate is 2.5%. Shares and saves that are not connected are not included.

Please note

Supports up to 2MiB, 5,000 rows, and 40 columns. Missing numbers are not padded with zeros. Response rate is the sum of selected responses ÷ views × 100 and is different from the platform's official engagement rate. Inputs and analyzes are not automatically saved or transmitted to the server.

Try running it directly without a file

Runs the actual tool's processing code with example material created by the site. Results are currently computed in the browser and no input data is uploaded to the server.

button displays results and example files.

Examples are not actual visitor data or performance. File size and font shape may vary depending on browser, device, and font.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Select or paste CSV. The first row should be column names.
  2. Click Read CSV and check the auto-connected columns. Title is required.
  3. Click Analyze Performance and check which values are missing and which responses you included.
  4. Compare the same platforms and formats and download the analysis results as CSV.

Comparison criteria must be met first

The number of views may vary depending on the platform and data aggregation period. Median by Format shows the middle value of the input data and does not determine the cause of success or optimal posting time. The post date filter only determines what content to include and does not count views during that period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to link my YouTube or Instagram account?

No. We only use CSVs that we prepare ourselves. We do not provide account login or platform API connectivity.

Is this the same as the platform’s official engagement rate?

It is different. This tool calculates the response rate based on your input by dividing the sum of selected responses by the number of views. Distinguish it from reach/impression criteria or the platform’s own indicators.

What about untitled rows and total rows?

Exclude rows with empty titles or Total·Totals·Total·Total, and display the number of exclusions. Manually remove any other aggregate rows in your data.
