Prepare CSV and check automatic column association

Use UTF-8 CSV, where the first row is the column names and one row is the content. You can download the form in the form of title, platform, format, date, views, likes, comments, shares, and saves. If the title is required and nothing else, leave it as Not Provided. After reading the CSV, check the auto-connected columns and change them if necessary.

YouTube Studio can now export reports in advanced analysis mode. Columns and aggregation ranges vary depending on the report type, so prepare data for each content and check the total/aggregation rows. Materials from other platforms can also be organized and used in the same row/content format.

Official guide to YouTube advanced mode and report export. The tool does not log you into your platform account or automatically import materials.

Calculate median number of views and response rate based on input

If the number of views is 100, 300, and 10,000, then the sorted middle value, the median, is 300. The average is approximately 3,466.67, so one large value has a large impact. The median helps you see typical sizes, but it doesn't explain cause or future performance. For even numbers, the average of the middle two values is used.

The reaction rate based on input is calculated by dividing the selected sum of likes, comments, shares, and saves by the number of views and multiplying by 100. If you have 1,000 views, 20 likes, and 5 comments, the response rate for linking just those two items is 2.5%. Shares and saves that are not connected are not included in the total. This is different from the platform's official participation rate or reach/impression-based indicators.

Response rate is not calculated for rows with 0 views or undelivered views. If any of the selected response items is an empty value, the response total for that row is also left as unprovided. Because the same person may have multiple responses, response rate is not a percentage of unique viewers, and values exceeding 100% are not collectively corrected.

Matching comparison standards by platform and content format

Once you have the Platform and Format columns, group together the same combination of content to display the number of content, rows given views, median views, and median response rate. Groups with less than 5 items are marked with limited data. This is not a test of statistical significance and is a guide to caution in making judgments when the sample is small.

Compare data from the same platform, similar posting time, and same aggregation period. Other platforms may have different definitions of views or content exposure. The posting date start/end filter determines whether to include content posted on that date and does not separately calculate the number of views that occurred within the period. We do not automatically determine the optimal posting time or cause of spikes.

Check missing values and total rows and save as CSV

Numbers accept non-negative integers and thousands commas. K·M abbreviations or percentage values must be converted to their original numbers. Rows with blank titles and Total·Totals·Total·Total rows display the number of exclusions, and remove other aggregate rows manually. Empty numbers are separated from zero.

The analysis results are downloaded as CSV with the filtered content rows. Titles that could be interpreted as spreadsheet formulas are protected on export. The original and results are not automatically saved or transmitted to the server. The tool supports up to 2MiB, 5,000 rows, and 40 columns, and provides a warning that fictitious examples are not actual performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the view total different from the original platform?

Included content, missing values, aggregate rows, and periods may vary. This tool's totals only add rows that provide hits that match the current criteria.

Should I absolutely choose the format with the highest response rate?

No. You must check the number of views, number of samples, response items included, and production purpose.
